One of the jets flew more than 400 flights past its schedule maintenance and inspection period.
Independence Air claims that the problems were the result of an upgrade to their record-keeping system, which it voluntarily disclosed to FAA officials. A spokesperson for the airline said that passengers were not affected on the flights in question and everything was normal.
Independence Air flies to 45 destinations and is based out of Washington's Dulles Airport. The airline has been attempting to
establish itself as a low fare air carrier; however, industry analysts are predicting that the company will have to file for bankruptcy.
