Peter Thomas Engelman was charged with four felonies, two counts of first-degree controlled substance crime, a fifth-degree drug charge, felon in possession of a pistol, and a misdemeanor charge for providing police with a false name.

Engelman pleaded guilty to two of the four felony charges, the fourth-degree controlled substance crime which earned him a 12-month sentence, and the gun charge, for which he received a 60-month sentence. The attorney and public defender on the case agreed that Engelman should serve these sentences consecutively, totaling six years behind bars.

Police arrested Engelman as he was leaving his home in a van after receiving a tip from a confidential source. When police searched the van they found a .25-caliber pistol, marijuana, cocaine, and $1,800 in cash.

This will not be the first time Engelman has been in prison. He was on probation and spent a brief amount of time in jail back in 1995 after smoking marijuana near his infant daughter. He later served a three-year sentence for aiding in aggravated robbery in September of 2000.
