Cocaine Dealer Sentenced to 8 Years

23-year-old Mark Harris, from New London, Minnesota pleaded guilty to dealing cocaine with plans to sell in the Aberdeen area. This felony could have earned him 10 years in state prison with a $10,000 fine. However, the judge sentenced Harris to eight years in prison and three years suspension.

The night of his arrest, Harris was pulled over in Aberdeen and began fighting with police, forcing officers to restrain him with a tasar. When officers searched his vehicle they found the cocaine, a scale, and cash.

Having already served 117 days in jail before receiving his sentence, Harris was able to use these as credit towards his eight-year prison term.
