Erna J. Silke is asking for $1,027,498 in compensation from the Red Sox after being hit in the shin by a hand pulled concessions dolly. When the cart struck Silke, the lawsuit claims that she was thrown into the air, causing her to hit her head, shoulder and hip on the concrete. Silke was hospitalized to treat her injuries, and over the last three years has not been able to afford to pay her medical bills.

Silke's suit, filed in Suffolk Superior Court, alleges negligence on the part of the handcart operator, claiming that he was carelessly careening his cart through the crowd of spectators.
