Christopher Boyce Loftis pleaded not guilty to the charges of possessing methamphetamine, manufacturing methamphetamine, and two counts of trafficking the drug.

The jury, consisting of six men and six women, found Loftis guilty on all counts. After the verdict, the judge announced a mandatory sentence for Loftis on the two trafficking charges, which he consolidated into one term from 225 to 279 months in prison, and a $25,000 fine.

For the remaining charges, Loftis received a 24 to 30 month suspension and 36 months of supervised probation upon release from prison.

Investigators had received information about illegal drug activity at the Loftis residence a month before raiding his property, which resulted in his arrest in April 2004.

Investigators report that Loftis was spotted exiting from the shed during the raid. The shed was found to contain methamphetamine, and equipment to manufacture the drug.

Elizabeth Boyd Brinkley, the daughter of Loftis, was living at the residence during this time as well. However, she wasn't home at the time of the raid and was never charged.
