21-year-old Sandra Bergen and her parents are seeking compensation for more than $50,000; as well as the sum of medical expenses, including the amount paid by their medical plan; and punitive damages for the overdose that almost resulted in Sandra's death.

The family claims that the alleged drug dealer sold Sandra crystal meth not only to make money, but also with the intent of causing harm, knowing that the drug was both addictive and dangerous.

Sandra spent several days in the hospital in a coma after overdosing on the drug in May of 2004 and now suffers from reduced heart capacity.

Although this claim was filed, the allegations have not been proven in court and the defense has not yet filed a statement.
