MidAtlantic Airways Pilots Sue

The 85-page lawsuit contends that when MidAtlantic Airways hired the pilots, they were never told that the airline was operating under the same government certificate as US Airways, the company that had laid them off.

Michael Haber, the attorney representing the pilots, stated that MidAtlantic Airways did not exist and that it was never anything except a name. Haber said that his clients were tricked and that US Airways camouflaged the information to pay substantially less in wages and benefit packages. Haber stated that labor relation laws mean nothing if a pilot can be brought back at a lower wage.

US Airways was recently sold to Republic Airlines and has merged with America West.
