A Saginaw County Circuit Court Judge ruled that attorneys for seven plaintiffs will represent all people living within the river's 100-year floodplain in a class-action lawsuit.

The seven plaintiffs are among 170 who have sued Dow Chemical, claiming that the company polluted the river with dioxin.

Dioxin is a toxic chemical that has been linked to birth defects, cancer, and other medical problems.
