An alleged drug dealer who pleaded guilty to the criminal charges of brutally murdering a man over a drug debt was sentenced to life in prison.
Michael LeJeune pleaded guilty to the 1997 murder and decapitation of 39-year-old Ronnie Davis. LeJeune allegedly murdered Davis because he owed him $250 for drugs.
This was the second trial for LeJeune. The first was considered a mistrial after a judge, deputy, and court reporter were shot when a prisoner escaped from another courtroom.
According to court reports, after murdering Davis, LeJeune and his girlfriend put Davis's body, excluding the decapitated head, in the trunk of the victim's car and set it on fire. LeJeune kept the head and took it home with him to remove the bullet.
According to LeJeune's girlfriend, Kelly, who testified in court, LeJeune put Davis's head in a bucket of cement after removing the bullet. He kept the head and the bucket in the trunk of his own car for several days, transporting it back and forth between his apartment and his parent's home. The head has not yet been found.
