The suit was filed after the Bar refused to reimburse victims for the stolen funds. The suit alleges that Attorney Louis Robles stole the money to support his extravagant lifestyle and to pay for production of several 'B' movies.

Thomas Tew of Tew Cardenas Law, the firm representing Robles' former clients, stated that he has been trying to get the Florida Bar to reimburse his clients using funds collected by the Bar's 70,000 members who contribute to a client security fund.

A spokesperson for the Bar stated that the security fund program is not designed to compensate individuals who suffer monetary losses as a result of attorney misconduct.

Robles, once known as the 'King of Torts,' has been disbarred. He allegedly destroyed client files and x-rays before closing his law firm.

Robles' attorney, Alan Dimond, stated that he had great confidence in his client and saw no evidence that his client had done anything wrong.

Robles could not be reached for comment.
