Former TNT Employee Awarded $6.8 Million in Sexual Harassment Case

The sexual harassment verdict was the first to be recorded under Missouri's Human Rights Act. In 2003, the Missouri Supreme Court ruled that plaintiffs alleging human rights violations were entitled to a jury trial.

Lynn claimed that her night supervisor made inappropriate comments about her body on five separate occasions over a two-month span. On one occasion, Lynn alleges that the supervisor actually hit her on the buttocks with a belt while making a remark. According to Lynn, TNT did not investigate or follow up on her complaints.

TNT's lawyers are expected to challenge the verdict, which they say violates a state limit on punitive damages.
