Drunk Driver Sentenced to 38 Years for Deaths

Carreon, 40, had been trying to evade police who were attempting to pull him over. The collision occurred following an eight-mile pursuit.
Maria and Sergio Valenzuela were traveling in the pickup, along with their six-year-old son, and Maria's teenage brother. Sergio, 35, died almost immediately upon impact, while his wife Maria, 31, died two days later. The others survived with minor injuries.
Carreon, who showed no remorse during the trial, was given two sentences of 15 years to life for the deaths of the Valenzuelas and eight years for several other charges.
