Family Receives $900,000 in Nursing Home Lawsuit

The victim, 86-year-old Sam Buchanan, was a resident of IHS Ballard Nursing Center for three months in 2002. According to the lawsuit, Buchanan suffered from infections, severe bedsores, and malnourishment while he was treated at the home.
Buchanan was transferred from the facility to a local hospital, where he died in December 2002.
