A maximum three year prison sentence was handed down to Timothy Walton, 46, for a DWI accident that occurred in July 2004, and left Christian Heller, Jr. a paraplegic.

Heller, 25, was stopped at a red light when Walton came barreling down the street and rear-ended his vehicle. Heller severed his spinal cord in the accident and his vehicle was totaled. According to the Judicial District Attorney, Walton's blood alcohol level was more than twice the legal limit.

Heller, who is engaged and wanted a family, will not be able to have children as a result of his injuries. He and his fiancé are considering adoption.
