Construction company reaches settlement

On Dec. 20, 2005, an explosion meant to fracture underground rock accidentally blasted rock and debris into the air, causing damage to nearby homes.

The explosion exceeded city-imposed decibel limits, breaking windows in dozens of surrounding homes.

Sanders Construction will pay homeowners in the Henderson, Nevada community settlement costs totaling $206,000.
