The eight-inch long, heart-shaped charm bracelets were distributed by Reebok International, Ltd as a promotional gift with various styles of children's footwear between May 2004 and March 2006. The jewelry is silver-colored and has "Reebok" engraved on one side.

A statement released by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission reported that the bracelets contained high levels of lead and posed a serious risk of poisoning and other adverse health effects to children.

Reebok's president stated that the company would take all necessary steps to respond to the problem and avoid a similar tragedy.
