Michelle Rodriguez, 27, pleaded guilty to driving intoxicated while in Hawaii last December. She was given the option of serving five days in jail or 240 hours of community service. She chose the jail time and is currently at the Oahu Community Correctional Center.
Rodriguez, who was in Hawaii for the filming of the TV show "Lost", stated that after her drunken driving arrest she met with a substance abuse counselor at a treatment facility.
The judge felt that Rodriguez was taking responsibility for her actions, which is why she was not given the maximum sentence of 14 days in jail or a fine of $1500. In addition to her five day sentence, she was fined $500. Her driver's license had already been revoked for one year.
Rodriguez had a previous DUI conviction in California, and has yet to perform her 300 hours of community service. She was also stopped on three separate occasions for speeding in Hawaii.
