The lawsuits were filed by Carnival Cruise employees in March and October. According to the lawsuits, the cruise company allegedly failed to pay the workers for overtime hours worked. These workers claim they frequently worked 60 to 70 hours per week.

Tucker Ronzetti, the attorney representing the workers, stated that, under the settlement, the cruise line will not admit any wrongdoing, but will establish a grievance and arbitration process for pay disputes.

The settlement involves ships based at Port Canaveral. Carnival operates three ships from Port Canaveral -- the Fantasy, the Glory and the Sensation.

Carnival Cruise Lines is the world's largest cruise line and operates under the umbrella of Carnival Corp.

The settlement agreement is pending approval by U.S. District Judge Marcia Cooke.

Officials at Carnival declined to comment.
