The six defendants, who called themselves "The Family," defrauded various insurance companies by staging accidents at several Pennsylvania restaurants, tavern parking lots, operated laundries, and other commercial establishments.
Each person pleaded guilty to several counts of insurance fraud, theft, and criminal conspiracy. A Blair County judge sentenced them to state prison terms and also ordered them to repay more than $84,000 illegally obtained through false insurance claims.
The prison terms range from 62 months to 16 years.
