Fletcher said his former wife, Linda Bishop-Kowitz, called him after she found the substances. Fletcher said he then went to the home and gathered the drugs and drug paraphernalia and turned them over to the Ramsey County Sheriff Department’s Narcotics Unit.

Tests showed the substance was roughly a gram of cocaine with a street value of more than $100, Fletcher ordered the Sheriff’s Office apprehension team to arrest his son.

When the boy was arrested at a St. Paul, Minnesota gas station under suspicion of possession of a controlled substance, trace amounts of heroin were also found, Fletcher said.

The boy’s case has been turned over to a district attorney’s office in another county to avoid a conflict of interest.
