Florida Woman Missing from Cruise Ship

Galeana has been missing for three days from the Royal Caribbean cruise ship “Voyager of the Seas" that was traveling the Mediterranean. She was on the cruise with several extended family members when she was reported missing.

Galeana was last seen on Tuesday at 12:30 a.m. when she went to bed in herparents’ stateroom, and she was discovered missing at 7:30 a.m. by her sister. The Voyager was approximately 100 miles off the coast of Italy at the time.

Royal Caribbean officials notified the United States and Italian Coast Guards, the U.S. Consulate in Naples, the FBI, and the Naples police. The Naples police carried out an investigation while the Italian Coast Guard conducted searches by air and sea.

Carol Michalik, a spokeswoman for the FBI, would not comment on the specific details of Galeana’s disappearance. She said the FBI is still conducting the initial phases of its investigation.

It is still not certain whether a crime was committed relating to the disappearance of the young woman.
