Many of the cases involved small amounts of narcotics, usually a gram or less, with the largest one involving 5 grams. Rich Mahler, the assistant district attorney, said it would not be fair to move forward and prosecute those cases in which the suspended officer, Jeremiah Love, was involved.

Love’s suspension from the Wichita Police Department is indefinite and his Web page has been removed from MySpace.com, the popular Web site where users can create personal Web pages.

Love had designed his site in the genre of horror movies and claimed it was all meant to be humorous.

Mahler said the Web site and subsequent suspension affects both Love’s credibility and testimony in the cases he was involved in.
