None of Dub’s injuries were life-threatening. Deputies responded to the attack, which occurred around 4 p.m., by deploying a Taser in an attempt to subdue the dog, named Junior. Only one of the Taser prongs connected. Junior escaped authorities and managed to threaten several other people before running into his home through an open door.

Officers pursued the dog to its home, where they shut it in and called Pinellas County Animal Services. When Pinellas County Animal Services arrived, they took the dog into custody.

County officials stated that the neutered dog has a prior record, having bit a family member in Aug. 2005. If the medical report finds Dub’s injuries to be severe, Junior may be put to sleep.
