Ohio Man Sentenced to 19 Years for Fraud

Fanaro, 64, of Ohio, was found guilty in October after selling more than $650,000 worth of fraudulent bonds and limited partnership interests to at least 13 investors from Ohio. He was convicted of 27 counts of securities fraud, 27 counts of selling securities without a license, 27 counts of selling unregistered securities, and 17 counts of making false statements. Fanaro returned to Ohio from Tampa, Florida, where he moved in 2005, for his trial. William H. Mays, Fanaro’s business partner, was also found guilty of felony securities fraud and a number of other charges.
