Montani was the compliance officer for Bryn Mawr Investment Group/Valley Forge Securities, and he encouraged his family and friends to invest in stocks offered by the firm. He then helped himself to a 30 percent commission from the sales, and hid the money in offshore accounts to avoid paying taxes on it. Montani also falsified documents submitted to the IRS so he would not have to pay taxes on these earnings.

Montani is currently free on bail. He is scheduled for sentencing on April 18, and could face up to 41 months in prison.
