The Ringwood lawsuit—filed by 700 residents including many members of the Ramapough Mountain Tribe—is one of the largest environmental suits to be filed in the state of New Jersey.

Dr. James Dahlgren, the toxicologist that helped Hinkley residents win more than $300 million in the well-known industrial poisoning case in California, will lead the team of experts.

Just as they did in the Brokovich case, experts will develop advanced scientific models to persuade jurors that residents inhaled toxic chemicals during an industrial fire that burned for weeks several decades ago.

Residents have also submitted blood tests to the German lab used in the Brokovich case. Dioxin and other toxins found in the blood will be evidence lawyers will try to trace back to Ford.

Ford’s attorneys deny all allegations.

20,000 tons of sludge removed just two years ago from the site showed high levels of benzene, xylene, chromium, arsenic, and lead.
