Roger Parsons, 43, claims Canon City has repeatedly refused to provide him with a job for which he’s qualified. Parsons was fired from the city’s police department six months after he became paralyzed in a 2005 roadway accident in which a truck collided with his motorcycle.

In his lawsuit, filed Monday in Denver District Court, Parsons is seeking back pay, plus interest, and is asking for his job back or a suitable settlement.

The city has hired attorney Daniel R. McCune of the Denver firm Kennedy, Childs and Fogg to represent its interests.
