Covenant Transport, based in Chattanooga, has been making its workers sign a fake form that waives their workers’ compensation benefits.

The judge's temporary order, issued Thursday, demands that Covenant comply with workers’ compensation laws and stop having employees sign the form.

Employees who are injured on the job are entitled to receive workers’ compensation benefits from their employers. There are currently no general waivers to the workers’ compensation law in Tennessee.

Covenant Transport could not be reached for comment.

A hearing is set for later this month.
