A confidential settlement between Comair and the estate of Jesse Clark Benton and Bobbie Sue Benton has been reached after a spate of lawsuits were filed following the crash of Comair Flight 5191, near Lexington’s Blue Grass Airport.

Two other lawsuits against the airline have also been settled.

Since the August 27 crash, there have been 29 suits filed against Comair on behalf of 38 passengers.

The flight went down in the early morning hours shortly after takeoff. A total of 49 passengers and crew were killed when the plane crashed into a field near the airport.

The crew’s co-pilot was the lone survivor of the crash.
