No injuries were reported in the accident.

A spokesperson with the Chicago Department of Aviation says the wing of a taxiing United Airlines jet, carrying 358 passengers and crew, clipped the tail of an American Airlines plane as it sat waiting at the airport.

The American Airlines flight was bound for Seattle with 141 passengers and crew on board.

The United Airlines plane appeared to be undamaged from the incident; however, the American plane suffered damage to its rudder.

Both airlines say passengers were taken to their destinations on later flights. The FAA says it is investigating the accident and that the National Transportation Safety Board has been notified.
