Leticia Arnett is seeking $150,000 plus legal fees on behalf of her deceased husband who died of leukemia. According to Arnett, her husband’s leukemia was caused by exposure to benzene and petroleum naphtha during the four years he worked at General Tire and Rubber Company in Kentucky.

Among the 17 defendants named in the suit are BP, Chevron, and Shell Oil, who the suit alleges manufactured or sold products containing harmful amounts of the chemicals.

Arnett further asserts that the defendants did not provide proper warnings and instructions for working with benzene and petroleum naphtha. The defendants have not yet commented on the suit.

The suit seeks compensation for Arnett’s pain, suffering, medical expenses, and lost wages.
