The plaintiff’s attorney, Claude Wyle of the San Francisco firm of Choulos, Choulos and Wyle, announced the settlement on Nov. 9.
The 26-year-old man was riding his motorcycle when the driver of the mini van made a U-turn across all lanes of traffic and into the path of the motorcycle, his attorney said. The man suffered multiple broken bones and underwent 11 surgeries to treat his extensive injuries.
A team of accident reconstruction experts, including physicists, was used to refute the van driver’s claim of comparative negligence on the part of the motorcyclist. The plaintiff’s suit was filed in Marin County Superior Court in San Rafael.
