5-Year-Old Boy Accidentally Shoots Self with Stolen Handgun

Derrick Jason Victorian, 33, was sleeping in his apartment Saturday morning when he heard a gunshot. His 5-year-old son had found a stolen .25-caliber handgun in his father's bedroom and accidentally shot himself in the shoulder at approximately 10:15 a.m.
Victorian has a prior conviction that makes it illegal for him to possess a gun. He previously served time for the possession of a controlled substance in 2003.
Victorian was arrested and faces charges for endangering the welfare of a child, illegally possessing a firearm, and receiving stolen property.
