Carlos Floyd Spencer pleaded guilty last month to second-degree murder, leaving the scene of an accident, and driving with a revoked license in connection with the death Michael James Alan Longan.

The fatal accident occurred April 19, as Longan was walking along south Western Avenue in the southern part of Oklahoma City.

Spencer's blood-alcohol level was .15 at the time of the accident, nearly double the legal limit.

During his sentencing, Spencer was reprimanded by Oklahoma County District Judge Twyla Mason Gray for failing to learn anything from a 2006 DUI conviction in Texas.

Spencer's sentencing came just one day after another drunken driver was sentenced in Oklahoma County for a fatal DUI accident. Mae Lene Chambers was said to have been traveling over 100 miles per hour on Oct. 27, 2006, when her vehicle struck the back of Joseph Sharp's car, sending it off the road and causing it to roll over several times. Chambers was sentenced to 10 years in prison by District Judge Tammy Bass-LeSure.
