Approximately 7,800 Yamaha Rhino ATVs have been pulled off the market after tests showed a manufacturer defect in the left hand front wheel brake caliper has the potential to cause brake fluid to leak. Leakage could cause the inability to brake, posing a huge risk for riders because they may lose control of the ATV and even roll it over.

The ATVs affected by the recall include the 2008 Yamaha Rhino YXR 450 as well as the YXR700 Side-by-Side, both of which sell for between $8,300 and $12,000. The ATVs have been on the market since October, 2007.

Registered owners of the ATVs have been informed about the recall; however, all other consumers are warned to discontinue use.
