Cameron Douglas, 30, son of actor Michael Douglas, was transferred to jail this week after his July arrest (in Manhattan) on drug trafficking charges. Prosecutors allege Cameron sold and then transferred thousands of dollars worth of methamphetamine (also known as "Crystal Meth") from California to New York via Federal Express. Cameron was placed on house arrest after his initial arrest.

While Cameron was on house arrest, his girlfriend, Kelly Sott, allegedly tried to smuggle heroin to him (Sott reportedly concealed approximately seven grams of the drug in a battery-powered toothbrush). A security guard confiscated the toothbrush and turned it over to police. Police then transferred Cameron to jail and subsequently arrested Sott.

Cameron's family is reportedly "devastated" at the charges. Cameron has appeared in a number of films, some of which also starred his father. One such project, a crime drama entitled Beautiful Outsiders, is still in production.

If convicted, Cameron will serve a sentence of 10 years to life in prison.
