Actor and comedian David Alan Grier, 54, filed court papers on August 23rd in Los Angeles County Superior Court seeking custody of his one-year-old daughter, Luisa. He is also requesting that the Court deny spousal support, which his estranged wife, Christine Y. Kim, is seeking. Kim is also seeking sole custody of Luisa, with periodic visitation with Grier.

The couple wed in July 2007. During their marriage, the couple split time between New York and Los Angeles. In January 2008, Kim gave birth to Luisa in Los Angeles. In July 2009, Kim filed for divorce, citing irreconcilable differences.

Grier is known for his roles in several films (including The First, A Soldier's Play, Jumanji, and Streamers), theater productions (including the Broadway musical A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum), and television shows (including In Living Color, Saturday Night Live, and Loveline).
