Actress Lori Petty, 45, will serve five years' probation for a misdemeanor DUI charge, to which she pleaded no contest at the Los Angeles County Superior Court. Authorities charged Petty with driving under the influence following an accident in which Petty hit a 14-year-old skateboarder in Venice, California on May 30th. Police arrested Petty, who reportedly posted $100,000 bail. The victim suffered minor injuries.

As part of Petty's plea deal, the court dismissed a second DUI charge. Under the deal, Petty will pay fines, attend Alcoholics Anonymous meetings, and receive outpatient treatment for alcoholism. She has already reportedly completed some of the terms of her sentence. In addition, the actress issued an apologetic statement for the incident.

Petty is best known for her roles in A League of Their Own, Tank Girl, and Point Break.
