DUI and hit and run charges against one of the stars of the Discovery Channel's documentary reality series Deadliest Catch have been dropped due to insufficient evidence.
Jake Harris, 24, received misdemeanor charges of reckless driving and driving with a suspended license. The legal action stems from a Feb. 18 incident that took place in Kings County, Washington, when Harris was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence and a hit and run accident.
Harris admitted to having a prescription for Xanax and failed a field sobriety test, but refused to undergo toxicology testing when the arrest occurred.
Witnesses of the alleged hit and run could not identify Harris as the driver involved in the accident.
Harris' arraignment is scheduled to take place on March 26. If convicted, he could be sentenced to up to 15 months in jail.
