Arkansas Asbestos Mesothelioma

Millions of Americans are now aware of the dangers that asbestos fibers can pose to our health. The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency banned use of the substance in consumer materials in 1989. By that point, thousands of people had already died of mesothelioma, a form of cancer that is caused by exposure to asbestos. Mesothelioma is a type of cancer that most commonly affects the lining of the lungs. However, in some cases, the cancer develops in the lining of the heart or the stomach. The majority of mesothelioma victims include men and women that worked with products that contained asbestos. If you or a loved one was exposed to asbestos at work, you may be entitled to compensation for the financial and emotional costs associated with the disease.

Occupations with Mesothelioma Death Rates

A significant portion of Arkansas' industrial output includes the production of electrical equipment, machinery, metal fabrication, and paper products. In the past, these fields have been associated with higher rates of malignant mesothelioma among workers.
