Iowa Asbestos and Mesothelioma
Mesothelioma is a type of cancer that affects the lining of the lungs, heart, and stomach. The disease is caused by exposure to asbestos fibers, which were commonly used in building materials, auto parts, and other products. Unfortunately, the symptoms of mesothelioma and other asbestos-related diseases typically do not present themselves until several years after the exposure occurred. In many cases, by the time mesothelioma is diagnosed, the chances of the patient undergoing successful treatment are low. Sadly, thousands of U.S workers have lost decades of their lives to mesothelioma. This has resulted in billions of dollars in economic losses due to medical bills and lost wages for victims and their families. If you or a loved one has been diagnosed with mesothelioma or lost their life to the disease, you may be entitled to damages.
Iowa's Industries and Mesothelioma Rates
Although most people think of Iowa as a farming state, a significant portion of the state's economy relies on its manufacturing sector, which produces heavy machinery, electrical equipment, and chemical products.
