Massachusetts Mesothelioma Information
Massachusetts is a small but densely populated state. The Massachusetts economy was originally based on agriculture and fishing, but manufacturing became central during the industrial revolution. Some estimates indicate that five to ten thousand people died annually from lung cancer caused by asbestos over that time period. Many of those who died were exposed to asbestos at work. Mesothelioma, lung cancer, and asbestosis can take decades to develop, and unsuspecting victims continue to be diagnosed.
